DOON VALLEY INSTITUTE OF COMPUTER APPLICATION  

The Doon Valley institute of Pharmacy and Medicine (DIPM) was established in the year 2004 with B. Pharmacy course, and affiliated to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. Now the college offers B.Pharmacy and M,Pharmacy (Pharmaceutics and Pharmacology) courses duly approved by AICTE and affiliated to Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak. The faculty is highly qualified, experienced and updated with the latest knowledge. Pharmacy is the health profession that links the health sciences with the chemical sciences and it is charged with ensuring the safe and effective use of pharmaceutical drugs. It is the branch of science which deals with the study of chemistry of drugs, their origin, procedures for drug development, their preparation, dispensing, their effects and eventual use for prevention and treatment of diseases.

DIPM believes in imparting latest skills and knowledge to pharmacy students by having a very strong industrial institute partnership eel I. We have industrial tie up with multi nationals pharma companies for drug research in pharmaceutics, pharmacology, clinical trials and regulatory affairs. We undertake industrial training and trips for updating the knowledge and bridging the gap between academics and industry. The advancement pharmaceutical drug research is changing from molecular pharmacology to genomics, proteonomics etc. The growth of Indian pharma industries is very fast and is exporting drug/ Pharmaceuticals/ cosmetics/ diagnostics/ neutraceuticals all over the world. The all round development of the student in communication, computational, documentation skill make him/her global pharma player.

FUTURE SCOPE

After obtaining a degree in pharmacy, and registering with the state Pharmacy Council, Student's can play an important role as pharmacist in Govt & Private sector. Apart from this traditional scope of pharmacy practice, it is also related to more modern services like patient care, including clinical services, reviewing medications for safety and efficacy, and providing drug information. Pharmacy as a career option has always been in demand. India being a huge country of about billions of populations, diseases both minor and major have been a curse upon the weak and the poor. Those with B. Pharma can work in production section in pharmaceutical companies, product marketing, quality control, research, etc.

ACADEMICS

Academics, headed by class in-charge faculty coordinators of all the activities of food technology students. Academic in-charge is engaged with various student related activities like tutorship, personality development, motivational & moral development, practicality towards life and career. The class in-charge sends all the progress reports to the parents thrice a semester regarding their attendance, sessional performances and other instructions through telephonically.

TOURS AND EVENTS

Department has also organized industrial visit and workshops for the students. Last year, we have organized industrial visit to Yakult, Parle, Coke, Britannia and Mother Dairy.
Department has also successfully organized workshops on “Value-added Foods” last year.
In addition to above, our students have participated in cultural and technical fest. They have participated in events like singing, dancing, graffiti, food carnival, food mantra, food quiz, choreography etc... The department have excels in these events and proves to be one of the best department in institute.

DEPARTMENTAL PROJECTS AND PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

In our department, we also concentrate on technical projects and new product development. There is also more emphasis on new product development by under-utilized products. Our student have developed some new products like cardamom-almond flavored shrikhand, peanut butter chocolate burfi, strawberry flavored soya drink and many other cereal based, dairy based and fruit & vegetable based products. Recently, we have developed meatless meat balls, flavored soya smoothie, flaxseed sandwich. Currently, department is working on “Energy Bar”, “Waste Utilized Food Product” and “Multifunctional Flour Food Products”.

PLACEMENTS

Our students are placed in reputed companies like Parle, Coke and Britannia etc.
